ThermiDRY™ in Detroit, MI
Excessive sweat can be a source of embarrassment for many and the thought of using toxins to treat it may seem daunting. It’s time to consider ThermiDry™, a toxin-free, micro-invasive treatment option for the reduction of excess sweat. Regain your confidence from profuse sweating with ThermiDry™. Birmingham Plastic Surgery, led by board-certified plastic surgeon Ahmet R. Karaca, M.D., offers ThermiDry™ for men and women who live in and around Detroit, Farmington Hills and the surrounding communities of Michigan.
What is ThermiDry™?
Using innovative radio frequency energy, ThermiDry™ targets axillary sweat glands to reduce excessive sweat in people who suffer from hyperhidrosis.
FDA-approved ThermiDry™ uses temperature-controlled radio frequency energy placed beneath the skin’s surface to precisely target the axillary sweat glands. ThermiDry™ utilizes ThermiRF™ technology, which is also FDA approved for nerve ablation and other cosmetic concerns.
How Does ThermiDry™ Work?
Treatment is micro-invasive and involves placing a tiny probe underneath the skin via a fine-gauged hypodermic needle. Tiny energy bursts from the probe help to disable the targeted sweat glands. Temperature is gauged and monitored by the probe and a specially-designed surface camera. This precise, dual monitoring allows for the exact, necessary energy level to be applied to the targeted treatment area in order to maximize results.

What to Expect During Your ThermiDry™ Treatment

Patients usually report a gentle warming sensation in the area during treatment. Depending on the size of the specific area treated, ThermiDry™ takes approximately an hour. Mild swelling can occur, but most patients will be able to return to their normal routine and activities immediately following the procedure.

What Is ThermiDry™ Recovery Like?
ThermiDry™ can result in mild swelling and some discomfort, which can easily be treated with medication that you will be prescribed following the procedure. Most patients will be able to return to work and normal activity following the procedure. Follow-up appointments will be scheduled to monitor results.
